Dr. Rex Forehand
University of Vermont

Dr. Forehand is the Heinz and Rowena Ansbacher Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training at the University of Vermont. Prior to going to the University of Vermont he was on faculty at the University of Georgia for 31 years where he most recently served as Regents Professor of Psychology and Director of the Institute for Behavioral Research. His research focuses on the roles of parenting and family stress on child psychosocial adjustment. In the past 10 years he has been involved in the development and evaluation of several prevention programs for families and children, including raising healthy children.



Dr. Bernice Pescosolido
Indiana University

Dr. Pescosolido is a Distinguished Professor and Chancellor's Professor of Sociology at Indiana University at Bloomington. Dr. Pescosolido has focused her research and teaching on social issues in health, illness, and healing. Her research agenda addresses how social networks connect individuals to their communities and to institutional structures, providing the "wires" through which society energies (social interaction) influences people's attitudes and actions. She is the founder and director of the NIMH-funded Indiana Consortium for Mental Health Services Research as well as the IU-Strategic Directions Initiative's CONCEPT I Program in Health and Medicine. Both are designed to enhance the research and training of IU's faculty and students to contribute to the national agenda on health and health care.
