Rex Forehand was the recipient of the 2008 Distiguished Career Contributions to Education and Training Award. Robert Vandenberg was inducted into the Society of Organizational Behavior. Ron Simons was awarded the McNamara Awardfrom the American Criminal Justice Society for Best Article. Robert Rhoades was the recipient of a UGA Study in a Second Discipline Fellowship. Thomas McNulty received the UGA Center for UndergraduateResearch Opportunities Award. Michael Kernis was elected to the Executive Board of the Society of Experimental Social Psychology. Andrea Hohmann received the 2007 Young Investigator Award from the International Cannabinoid Research Society and was nominated for the NIDA Presidential Early CareerAward for Scientists & Engineers (PECASE). Janet Frick was selected for the Senior Teaching Fellows Program at the UGA Center for Teaching and Learning. Celeste Condition was awarded the UGA Faculty Excellence Award. Karen Calhoun was awarded the Mentoring Award from the Clinical Psychologyof Women Section of the American Psychological Association. Donna Alvermann received the American Reading Forum's Brenda S. Townsend Service Award, the William S. Gray Citatio of Merit from the International Reading Association and the OUtstanding Reviewer Award for contribution to the AmericanEducational Research Journal - Social & Institutional Analysis. Amanda Abraham was the recipientof the Ruth L. Kirschsteing National Research Service Award (NSRA) and received an individual Fellowship from NIAAA Virginia Nazarea was awarded the William A. Owens Award for an outstanding body of research in the social and behavioral sciences. Pamela Orpinas was awarded the Creative Research Medal for outstanding research within the past five years.
