My research interests are in public policy analysis and economic demography and my most recent research has focused on the health, education, and labor market outcomes of adolescents. In June 2006, my study on the effect of minimum wage increases on retail and small business employment was discussed on the floor of the United States Senate and cited by the U.S. Senate Republican Policy Committee . My research with Dr. Rich Burkhauser on minimum wage policy has been mentioned in a number of media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times .
