As a social and cultural psychologist,
I examine the relationship between individuals' sociocultural
contexts and their psychological functioning. I study the nature
and prevalence of various conceptions of and approaches to racial
and ethnic diversity and their implications for intergroup relations.
I am also interested in cultural conceptions of ability and how
to restructure learning and work environments to improve the
representation and performance of women and minorities in particular
domains. Additionally, I examine how cultural context shapes
people's well-being and self-in particular how culturally prevalent
meanings and practices influence regional and national patters
of well-being. In an emerging line of research, I study the social
representations of and non-readership of legal agreements, such
as on-line click-through agreements.
