My research focuses on how processes outside of conscious awareness influence interpersonal communication behaviors. Currently, I am looking at how subliminal affective responses influence communication patterns between people and the perceptions they have of each other. A second area of research examines how alcohol consumption actually changes communication behaviors versus how people think alcohol consumption affects their behaviors.
