My research examines the relations between models of personality (oriented towards both general and pathological traits) and psychopathology, specifically various forms of externalizing problems and the personality disorders (PDs). Among the PDs, I am most interested in the study of disorders that result in behaviors such as crime, substance, risky sex, and aggression; these disorders include psychopathy, antisocial, narcissistic and borderline PDs. I am also interested in using laboratory methodologies (e.g., Taylor Aggression paradigm) to examine the mechanisms through which personality and PDs lead to maladaptive behaviors.
