I am interested in the interplay between theory and method, using the analytical framework of structural equation modeling. The practice of specifying causal and measurement components in a research design offers a way of identifying general theoretical elements which are fundamental to the research process. I have proposed a theory-mapping strategy that can be used to reconstruct the theoretical foundations of existing research applications. I am exploring the application of these ideas to a number of substantive areas including adolescent deviance, eating behaviors and organizational innovations.
