My research explores the geography
of youth labor markets, the impact of public housing on the geographies
of poverty and crime, and the geographically contingent nature
of discrimination in mortgage lending. Each of these topics relates
broadly to the extent and nature of residential segregation in
urban contexts. My research over the next several years will
address the residential choices of interracial households. Residential
geography plays an important, yet inadequately understood, role
in identity information for these households, which already challenge
conventional notions of racial/ethnic identity.
