My research
focuses on understanding factors that serve as risk or resilience
for U.S. based minority populations related to their health and
health behaviors. Specifically this research examines the etiology
of disparities that U.S. based minority populations experience
related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) use. I am
currently focused on understanding the period of the life course
between adolescence (age 12-17) and young adulthood (age 18-30)
and the role that it serves in determining risk or resilience
for problems (social and physical related to ATOD use among U.S.
based minorities.
