My research
program focus lies in patient reported outcomes (PROs) including
quality of life, contingent valuation of willingness to pay studies.
My research interest initiated with patient outcomes in pharmaceutical
care utilizing survey research design. This has expanded to include
behavioral decision making in addition to quality of life. Although
there is no consensus on how to measure quality of life or even
define it, improving the quality of life of all Americans has
been integrated into mission statement of Healthy People 2010.
My research has focused on methodological issues surrounding
various methods of patient preference measurement (or quality
of life) including psychometric and non-psychometric, or welfare
based approaches, with an emphasis on policy decision making. |
