My primary research interest is in cognition.
My long-term aim is to use the investigation of cognitive processes
in animals to better understand cognitive processes in people.
My current research focuses on time perception. In particular,
I am investigating oscillator-based mechanisms of timing, which
represents a novel approach to understanding short-interval timing
by using concepts and methodology from circadian timing. The long-range
goal is to develop a theory of timing that encompasses the discrimination
of temporal intervals across several orders of magnitude from milliseconds
to days.
