My professional research interests include marital and familial processes that support the psychological health of women and deter the early onset of risky behaviors in adolescents. More recently, I have been studying the familial and community-level processes that influence the entry into and experience of mental health support systems for rural African Americans. My ersonal research interests focus on the balance of work and family systems across the family life cycle.
