My research interests include public management, science and technology policy and higher education policy. Recent studies focus on public values and management, public organization theory, university ressearch centers, scientists' career trajectories, organizational red tape, and technological innovation and technology transfer. He is co-director of the National Administrative Studies Project-III (NASP-III), a multi-stage, multi-university effort to develop public domain data for research in public management.
